The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' mantra that draws so many fans into the National Football League

That result could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Did Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to answer

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were second best from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's top offences

Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores

Bottling up the league's best running game was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard average

Additionally there were the three critical turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the end zone meaning a nine-minute drive yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just later

It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defense and Josh Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, controlled, balanced Bills we've seen this year

Miami have served up a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East

Spotlight - Patriots Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three 8-2 teams in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the best?

You can find flaws in New England, the Broncos and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined 24 wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver

The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time success in Orchard Park seems like a statement

Their two defeats came in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven consecutive victories, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was significant

Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly earns credit for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his side to victory

The defense is solid and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown

Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to end with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which features just a single matchup against a winning team, albeit a huge one against Buffalo

Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but face the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There's a long way to go but the opportunity is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Clash

Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three different eight and two teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who both scored forty points to reach seven and two ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in LA

They've both won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a contest

Both could realistically be without a loss as too - especially the Rams as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick deflected and returned by the Eagles for a score

Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely two of the best sides in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the season so far

Player of the Week - Taylor

Jonathan Taylor could be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Germany - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three touchdowns and contributing an additional 42 {receiving yards
