Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
American performer Finn, who featured in iconic programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
