Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
