Sweden Squad Reveal: Isak Included While Gyokeres Misses Out
Viktor Gyokeres moved to Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon this summer
Gunners forward Viktor Gyokeres was left out from the new manager's first Sweden squad, while Reds striker Alexander Isak received selection
Gyokeres is set to undergo further medical tests this week following fears of a muscle problem in the Gunners's English top flight victory against Burnley on Saturday
The 27-year-old was absent from Arsenal' European win versus the Czech side earlier this week
Alexander Isak Returns
Isak, absent from action since late October owing to a groin problem, has been chosen to play in the World Cup fixtures against the Swiss team (November 15th) plus the Slovenian side (18 November)
Additional England-based Inclusions
- Spurs playmaker the young talent, currently rehabilitating from a head injury
- Newcastle wide player Anthony Elanga
These players feature in the Premier League players selected by former multiple English clubs boss Graham Potter
Potter's Role
Potter took over by Sweden originally temporarily on 20 October, less than four weeks after leaving from West Ham
Previous manager Jon Dahl Tomasson was sacked following Sweden's setback to the Kosovan team in mid-October, an outcome that made automatic qualification in Group B unattainable
Present Standing
The Swedish team are currently bottom in their qualifying group having just a single point in four matches
Even if they don't manage to claim the runner-up spot, they could still participate in the qualification playoffs because of their performance during the previous UEFA competition
