Torrential Precipitation Aggravate Conditions for Evacuated Gazans, UN Alert

Heavy precipitation over the recent period have worsened the precarious situation of the hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians in the region, according to aid agencies.

"Awful" Conditions Brings Serious Threats

A official characterized the weather overnight as "terrible", with precipitation so intense that around 15cm (6in) of water was seen on the terrain.

"The recent weather was truly horrendous for the residents. The storms were so strong... And the gusts were so powerful," noted the official.

Authorities voice significant concern that young ones residing in tents in soaked garments will fall victim to hypothermia and various ailments.

Casualties and Significant Destruction

The health ministry have reported that one baby has died from the cold and at least 11 other people have been killed in building collapses due to the storms.

Further statements put a greater number of casualties. Spokespeople stated that numerous structures had totally fallen and scores had been partly destroyed.

Relief Distribution Considered Inadequate
