Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for an innovative locally engineered interceptor drone to enhance its air defences. The first three producers have begun manufacturing, with 11 more preparing to set up production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Tested in Combat Conditions

These UAVs will be based on a nationally created system called “Octopus” designed to neutralize Iranian-made drones. This technology has been tested in actual battle and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Recent Attack on Kyiv Described as Calculated

The Ukrainian president characterized Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine as “intentional, calculated and brutal” after six people lost their lives and dozens wounded in a wave of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv.
